Please follow this video to assemble and install your LAVA HD-2605 Antenna.
Some customers may want to install the antenna in their attic to avoid exposure to bad weather outdoors.
Yes, you can install the antenna in the attic, but your roofing material may weaken the signal strength. We advise for best results to mount the antenna outside. Check if the signal level is good enough for most of the channels before you install it in your attic.
You may expect the signal to be approximately 10-15% weaker than if installed outside.
Please read this guide before you install your remote controlled HDTV antenna.
- Open the box and assemble the antenna as instructed in the manual.
- Please connect the cable from the antenna outside to the control box inside your house directly. DO NOT use a switch or splitter in the connection.
If you need to connect through the cable outlet on the wall, please make sure there is no splitter in the connection. Check where the cable box in your house is located, use a F-F coupler to connect the cable from the antenna to the cable that runs into your room directly.
We frequently receive customer emails regarding the installation of the Remote Controlled HDTV Antenna. Here are some tips that can help you install the antenna and resolve the problem.
Problem 1. No power on the control box?
If there is no power on the control box, there may be problem on the power adapter or the control box. You can test the power adapter to see if the adapter has output or not. If the power adapter is still working, then the problem should be at the control box. If your adapter does not have any output, then the adapter may be defective. You can contact your seller to replace the defective part under the warranty period.
Problem 2. The antenna does not rotate?
The Antenna is designed with remote controlled rotate function. The motor rotor is controlled by the signal coming from the control inside.
If the control box is not powered ON, go back to problem 1 above.
If the control box is powered ON and antenna still does not rotate, follow these steps:
First, if the LED light on the Antenna is NOT ON, then there is problem with the connection between the antenna and the control box. Check the cable to see if there is a connection problem.
Second, if the LED light on the Antenna is ON, then the connection between the antenna and the control box is OK. Check the control box to see if the green light comes on when you press the rotation button. If the green light does NOT come on at the control box, then the problem maybe with the control box itself..
If the control box has green light ON when the rotation button is pressed, then the problem maybe on the motor rotor or the antenna main unit. Call customer service for help.
Problem 3. My Antenna powers on and rotates, but I still get no reception?
In this case, there should be no problem with the Antenna. You will need to check if you have the correct settings on your TV. Call your TV manufacturer for help.
If your TV is not HD ready, then you will need a digital converter box to get the digital channels on your TV.
If your TV is HD ready, check the setting to make sure that you set up the signal source at Air/Antenna and then scan the channels. Please contact your TV manufacturer on how to set up the TV for Antenna.
